Barnaby (1)Boy born November 2013Barnaby (2)
Down syndrome with auricle partition defect, speech delay, and hearing aid.
This child is strong and active. Barnaby has very good eye contact and always smiles when is spoken to. He is wearing a hearing aid which has improved his hearing a lot. He is crawling and tries to stand against the furniture. He pronounces syllables and is started to talk in his language. He is always very curious, observes and follows the adults face and mimicks them.
He is interested in toys and objects and he knows how to manipulate them. His attention concentration during music class is very good. The boy knows his staff members and strangers. He is eating food designated for the allergic children. He has started to try to eat hard food by himself and can drink from a cup with help. Our facilitator says that he is very healthy and that his developmental performance is very good.

This little one is Wetherby!!! My Family Found Me!!!

 !!!!! WETHERBY HAS A FAMILY!!!!!!!!

wetherby April 2015Wetherby (1)
Boy, born 2008
Down syndrome
Update April 2015: He is little and really cute, and we are told he is smart and very high functioning
From a family who met Wetherby in Jan 2015: He is a sweet little kid! He loves to dance and loves music. He is incredibly tiny for his age and definitely needs a family’s love and care to help him grow. He is in the same group as Rebecca. They frequently dance together to music the caregivers will play for them on the TV.

That's what is said about him, he sounds like such a wonderful child! Where is his family??

Where is Elijah's Family??

This is Elijah, There is quite a bit of info on this sweet one so i'll just Go ahead and let you read this info about him!

ElijahElijah-2014

Boy, born Feb 2006
Birth defect of central nervous system, hydrocephalus, mental delays, manifest deviation, cardipathy and protein-calorie deficiency

Elijah needs a family asap, because he needs constant care, and at the orphanage he doesn’t receive it. They fed him with wheat cream only and how he is feeling sick all the time, it’s hard to feed him, so that at orphanages he just remains hungry sometimes.
He can walk and likes music and playing with mobile phones.  He likes watching TV and doesn’t speak much.
Elijah really responds well to a male caregiver — he needs a Papa of his very own!
From a missionary who visited in August 2014:  ” A beautiful little boy. He is doing so much better, he loves to walk.  He needs someone to hold his hand as is too scared to walk alone just yet.  He still has some self harming behaviors and lets you know when he’s not happy!  But most of the time he is calm and has the cutest giggle. ”

From someone who met him summer 2013:
Elijah is a beautiful, sweet child. He is nonverbal but he occasionally makes some noises. Unfortunately, when I saw him he had to be restrained most of the time because he would hit himself and bang his head … hard. He now has a one-on-one caregiver, and I hear he is doing very well. Elijah likes to watch tv, and he loves musical toys. When you play music for him, he just lights up in a huge smile. He has an infectious laugh. While I was visiting, Elijah had surgery to fix a malfunctioning shunt. I was able to visit him in the hospital. The dedication of the man who is now his personal caregiver was amazing. Elijah can walk with support, and he loves to be held and cuddled. This little blond-haired child looks like an angel, and he would bring nothing but joy to a family’s life. http://reecesrainbow.org/61191/elijah-2

Delphine Waits for her family.. - My FAMILY FOUND ME

MY FAMILY FOUND ME

I'm back, this time I'll be talking about a little girl named Delphine.. She is such a cutie. She will be five years old soon. here is what is said about Delphine,

DelphineGirl, 3 y.o. (DOB 2010)
 HIV+
Delphine is a cheerful, playful and loving girl with a psychological age of a 1 yr and 9 month old child, which is below her chronological age.  Because of this, the child requires more attention in different areas such as communication, socialization, occupation, self control, etc to achieve an adequate comprehensive development. Her language is poor for her age.
Delphine is a little girl with a HIV diagnosis that needs much attention and care. It is important that she gets integrated to a family that understands and accepts her health condition and that provides the socio-affective support that she requires to achieve the comprehensive development of her abilities and social adequacy.
The future parents must be able to create a stable and deep emotional bond; they must be expressive in their affection, with a great amount of physical energy and dynamic interaction but flexible and tolerant to facilitate her adaptation.
It is important to continue with the necessary early stimulation in all areas of personal development at the child’s pace to achieve her full potential.  She must receive early stimulation and Language Therapy permanently.

Delphine is currently available for adoption and waiting for her  forever family! The central authority in the children’s country of origin are the legal custodians and guardians of the children and Open Door has been given the privilege to assist in finding permanent homes for these children.  Agency has photos and videos and we will be happy to share them with an interested family.
_____________________________________________________________________________

Please don't let her Hiv+ Status stop you from saying yes to her, Regardless of that she deserves a family. A lot of people Find HIV as being a scary thing to deal with it's not as scary as you might think, of course it might not be as easy to deal with as some people think but I'm sure it's not as hard either. hopefully in the near future, I'll make a blog post about this specific virus at some point once I gather enough information about it. She is more than her medical condition. It can be managed in the USA but in her country it's probably very hard to keep it under control she needs her family to come forward and say "Yes".
If you have questions about Hiv orAnything else regarding this sweet girls adoption please leave them in the comment section and I will try to answer them all in another blog post soon :)

Will you say "Yes"?

My Family Found Me!!

Hello Readers. Today I'm going to talk about a little girl that is listed as Tiya, She is eight years old and not doing well.. I wish her family would have found her a long time ago but they didn't so I'm blogging about her in hopes her family will see her. Here is what is said about Tiya

TiyaAge: 8
Diagnosis: Massive destruction of the brain matter, sub-cortical cysts, cortical atrophy; Infantile cerebral palsy – spastic quadric paresis; Symptomatic epilepsy; Hypotrophy; Premature puberty
This little girl has significant delays in all aspects of her development. She will turn her eyes and head in reaction to someone speaking to her. She stops crying if someone calls her name. She follows objects with her eyes.

She does have many various special needs but please don't let that get in the way of saying yes.. I'm not saying it is going to be easy, but it will be worth it. I believe this little girl will bring so much joy to her family if only they would say "Yes". She shouldn't have to wait any longer. Regardless of her medical needs, she deserves a chance don't you think? Who will be her Yes?

By far one of the cutest kids I've ever seen- Ronan!

I saw this little one on Reece's Rainbow as newly listed. Ronan reminds me of a Little boy I advocated for that also has Hydrocephalus He is going to be two this year. Hydrocephalus can be sever or not so severe, in this little guys case I'd say it more in the severe side but he does have a shunt I think, plus with medical intervention he can live a very happy life! Its so interesting to me, all the kids I've advocated for withHydrocephalus are some of the happiest kids I've seen! you can see the Joy they have in they're sweet smiles! Also I'd like to add that him being able to hold his head up is a good sign, without further ado this is Ronan!

ronan1Internal progressive hydrocephalus with brain atrophy, condition after shunting, ventriculitis, microphthalmia, congenital retina malformation, crossed eyes, mental delay

Meet Toby My Family has found me

Meet Toby!

Yes, another blog post tonight!! Tonight I  introduce to you all, Toby! Toby is a little boy (not little for long) living in Eastern Europe, he is going to be ten this year and the reason his family hasn't come foward yet to get him? I honestly don't know he's developmentally on target aside form having some stiming behaviors. He has Celiac disease, if your not familiar with this it's basically he has a intolorence to gluten. A family met him recently and this is what they had to say about him
from a family that spent time with him 4/15:
He is the sweetest kid. Has some stimming behaviors but is so smart and is so so so gentle with the other kids. He's a misfit there - physically fine but surrounded by physically disabled and yet he is so careful. He is GREAT with our son.
Who will welcome Toby into they're family with open arms? He's waited long enough!!

More Updates on Zeke!!! Where is his Family?

Good evening!! Im so glad to be able to tell you all, someone met Zeke and gave me an update!!! He is so sweet and incredibly smart! I asked her if he still showed symptoms of autism, Here is what she said about him:, I say no to autism!! I can't even believe that's on there! She said when he was younger he might be more rigid about routine and the order of things and tantrum if it changed but he is much better now. But total eye contact, he ADORES her, etc. and I don't think he has any type of dwarfism. That is also weird. His limbs seem like maybe he has some CP b/c he is a little stuff but manages fine. Seriously, so great! Unfortunately, he is about to be moved b/c he is turning 6.
